FWDS Pick
Client photo selection and album proofing for wedding studios
Pick is the front of the workflow the couple actually touches. A private gallery behind a four-digit PIN, a selection they can make from a phone on the sofa, and an album proof they approve without a single email thread. It has been running on our own weddings since August.
- Runs on
- Any phone or computer browser from 2023 on; a Mac and Windows app for you
- Needs
- Nothing for the couple to install
- Trial
- 10 days, no card
- Price
- 1,199rupees a month, or 9,499rupees a year
What it does
The part of the workflow the couple actually touches
Running on our own weddings since August. This is what is already built.
- 01
A private link and four digits
No account for the couple, no password to forget, no app to install. They open the link you send, type the PIN, and they are in. The session is held on the server, so they can start on a phone at midnight and finish on a laptop the next morning without losing a single heart.
- 02
A gallery built for choosing, not browsing
Photographs are shown at their natural ratio in two layouts, with a full-screen viewer that swipes on a phone and takes arrow keys on a desktop. Selections autosave, queue and retry when the signal drops, and the progress counter always shows where they are against the album’s limit.
- 03
Nothing is cropped while they choose
The viewer holds the whole frame. That sounds obvious until you measure it. Before we fixed our own lightbox, a landscape frame was losing a quarter off the bottom and a portrait frame two-thirds, with nothing on screen to say so. Couples were choosing album photographs from pictures they could not fully see. Verified since at four window sizes, both orientations, zero pixels clipped.
- 04
Review, submit, and a locked set
Before they send it, a review screen answers the only question that matters: what did I miss? Submitting locks the selection so it cannot drift. If they want to change something afterwards they request it, and reopening writes an immutable new version rather than quietly editing the old one.
- 05
Album proofing, without the email thread
Send the designed sheets back through the same link. The couple approves the album or leaves a note on the individual photograph they mean, in order, with the spread in front of them, instead of a reply that says “the third one on page 12 maybe”.
- 06
It hands the selection to Leaflo
The export is one filename per line, which pastes straight into Leaflo’s Smart Selector, alongside a structured handoff file and a printable layout sheet for laying out by hand. RAW filename matching means the names the couple picked are the names on your cards.
Four moments
What the couple sees, and when
The whole point of Pick is that the couple never has to be taught how to use it. These are the four screens that carry the wedding.
Your photographer’s suggestions
You flag the frames that should open the album and write one line saying why. The couple sees them first, badged, filterable on their own: a nudge, never a lock. They can ignore every one of them.
A soft limit, not a wall
Galleries carry a soft and a hard limit. Near the soft one the couple is told plainly how many are left and what happens if they go over, extra sheets and a conversation, instead of a button that has quietly stopped working.
Proofing, sheet by sheet
The designed album goes back through the same link. Each sheet is approved on its own, and a note is pinned to the photograph it is actually about, so “the third one on page 12 maybe” never happens again.
“Your album is ready”
When the last sheet is approved the couple gets the finished album and the link on WhatsApp, and the print file goes to the lab. The wedding ends the way it should, with a delivery and not a chase.
In detail
Everything else it does
The studio side
- A project setup wizard, a dashboard, and uploads that compress in the browser and can carry a studio watermark.
- Selection deadlines, and soft and hard limits per gallery.
- WhatsApp invitations and reminders, sent from the project.
- Recommended picks: flag the photographs you want the couple to see first.
- Activity, filters, version history and per-photo client notes.
Exports and handoff
- A filename list, one per line, for Leaflo’s Smart Selector.
- CSV, and a structured, versioned album-handoff file.
- A printable layout sheet, spreads in order, thumbnails, filenames.
- RAW filename matching back to the originals in the studio.
Photographs and safety
- Originals stay in private storage; the gallery serves fast display sizes.
- Archive ends a couple’s access and is reversible; permanent delete needs the project archived first and the project code typed out.
- Duplicate and burst grouping, and blur detection, on the studio’s review screen.
- RAW files never leave the studio. You upload high-quality JPEGs.
Will it run
What FWDS Pick needs, on both sides
Three ways in, and three different answers. The couple needs a browser from the last few years. You need a reasonably recent machine and an internet connection.
Couples, in a browser
- iPhone and iPad
- iOS 16.4 or later, from March 2023
- Android
- Chrome 111 or later, from March 2023
- Mac and Windows
- Chrome, Edge or Safari from 2023 onward
- Firefox
- 128 or later, from July 2024
- To install
- Nothing. They open a link.
An iPhone 8 running the newest iOS it can take is fine. A phone stuck on iOS 15 is not.
Couples, on the home screen
- Android
- An Install button appears. One tap.
- iPhone
- Share, then Add to Home Screen. Apple allows no button, so the app says so on screen.
- What it needs
- Exactly the same as the browser
- What it changes
- An icon and a full screen. It is the same app.
Your desktop app
- Mac chip
- Apple silicon only: M1 or newer
- Mac version
- macOS 11 Big Sur or later
- Mac download
- 620 KB installer, which fetches the 96 MB app
- Windows
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- Windows download
- 694 KB installer, which fetches the 79 MB app
- Internet
- Required. Offline it shows a no-connection page and waits.
An older Intel Mac cannot open it today. The desktop app is not a second copy of the software; it is a window onto the live site, which is why it needs the connection.
Limits on the photographs
These apply everywhere: the website, the phone, and the desktop app.
- Accepted
- JPG, PNG and WebP
- Refused
- HEIC, RAW and video
- Largest one photograph
- 150 MB
A 45-megapixel JPEG is about 25 MB, so you are nowhere near the limit. If your camera saves HEIC, convert before uploading.
Where these came from
- The browser floor is not our choice. It comes from the styling library Pick is built on, which needs iOS 16.4, Chrome 111 or Firefox 128. The first two landed in March 2023, Firefox in July 2024.
- Neither desktop installer is signed yet, so the first open shows a warning from Apple or Microsoft. It is safe. It simply is not vouched for by them yet.
- Windows-on-ARM laptops run the Windows build through Windows’ own translation.

Questions
What studios ask before they try Pick
Short answers, from the same facts as the rest of this page. Anything else, ask us, or read how the five apps fit together.
Do couples need to install an app or make an account?
No. They open the private link you send and type a four-digit PIN, in the browser on a phone or a computer. On Android one tap adds it to the home screen; on an iPhone it is Share, then Add to Home Screen.
Is FWDS Pick an AI culling tool?
No. Pick is where the couple chooses, and nothing in it removes or picks a photograph on its own. To speed up your own review it groups bursts by capture time and flags blurred frames on the studio’s side.
Can the couple change their selection after sending it?
They ask, and you reopen it. Submitting locks the set so it cannot drift, and reopening writes a new version instead of quietly editing the old one.
How does album proofing work?
Send the designed sheets back through the same link. The couple approves the album, or leaves a note on the exact photograph they mean with the spread in front of them.
Which photo formats can I upload?
JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 150 MB for one photograph. RAW, HEIC and video are refused, and your RAW files never leave the studio.
Is there a free trial of FWDS Pick?
Yes. The 10-day trial runs on the full app — no watermarks, nothing switched off. It holds two weddings and 3,000 photographs at a time, and deleting a wedding you have finished with frees the room again. No card is needed.
